***THIS EVENT HAS BEEN UPDATED TO REFLECT THE SHIFT TO AN ONLINE-ONLY EVENT, DUE TO OUR DESIRE TO HONOR THE GOVERNOR’S NEW REGULATIONS AND KEEP EVERYONE HEALTHY AND SAFE. IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY RSVP’ed FOR THE IN-PERSON EVENT, PLEASE SWITCH TO THE ZOOM ROOM INSTEAD***

Here is the event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/913391315735502

This event will now be on Zoom ONLY, allowing everyone to participate in this opportunity to honor those lost. A link for the Zoom virtual room will be posted soon, and will be made active as the event begins.

In partnership with Human Rights Campaign and Gender Justice League, we will have several speakers, representing diverse aspects of our wonderful community, who will share their stories, discuss their activism, and create an opportunity for us to celebrate the work we are doing while also mourning those who have been lost. Both our event and our website will have the full list of those lost in the United States, with opportunities to leave a note or otherwise honor their lives.

Following our speakers, we will be holding a candlelight vigil to read the names of those who’ve lost their lives to anti-trans hate crimes and violence in the United States. As an added touch, we will also be building a floating shrine in honor of the victims in other countries, to spread our remembrance of them across the city’s waterways. Any comments left online will be printed and added to the boats, so that remote voices can also be heard.

Please join us if you can, in whatever capacity you are able, and help spread the word! Please RSVP so we know how many distance participants we will have.

As the event approaches, keep an eye on the event page as well as the website for updates regarding resources and event details.
